If you have access to Bloomberg professional or other such service here is the list of items we might want on any one occasion. Obviously once we have it we don’t need to do it again for the same series of certificates.

Wish list would be documents we could lift, paste, print and use in whole or in part, as follows:
1. Search on any name in transaction and come up with all associations in SEC filings, press articles etc.
2. Identify the pooling and services agreement through date and geography parameters
3. Identify the assignment and assumption agreement through date and geography parameters
4. Identify any distribution reports from the “Trustee” to investors or if not from Trustee identify source of distribution reports
5. Identify the Certificate of Asset Backed Security
6. Identify the mortgages and notes allegedly assigned into the SPV and the instrument utilized to do it
7. Identify the rating agency on the securities sold
8. Identify the selling company that sold the securities (usually not the investment banker or the SPV)
9. Identify the investment banker that orchestrated the deal
10. Identify the CDO (collateralized debt obligation) manager for the investment banker
11. Identify the Trustee for holder of the relevant securities and instrument empowering the Trustee to do anything
12. Identify the Mortgage aggregator (wholesaler) and any agreements attached as exhibits to SEC filings
13. Identify the Trustee of Pooled Assets created by mortgage aggregator and the instrument empowering the Trustee to do anything
14. Identify any agreements between aggregator and investment banker, SPV, CDO or Seller or Trustee attached as exhibits to any SEC filing
15. Identify any transaction in which the investment banker, SPV, Trustee or other party received a loan, grant or investment from Federal reserve, US Treasury or other government source.
16. Identify any SIV (structured Investment Vehicle) utilized and its location
17. Identify custodian of notes and mortgages
18. Identify any agreements with MERS and any of the above parties or any agreement regarding the assignment and transactional recording of assignments of notes, mortgages, obligations or security interest
19. Identify any buy-backs of securities issued
20. Identify any buy back of any pooled loans
21. Identify any substitutions of performing loans for non-performing loans
